Wedding Entertainment Case Study – Sophia and Jared

wshutterstock_99461777

Sophia and Jared had booked their wedding service and reception at probably the most exclusive golf club in South East Queensland on what proved to be one of the coldest Queensland winter days of the year. The format of the party was again a three course meal, speeches, cutting of the cake followed by the bridal waltz/first dance.

The reception party was held in the clubs main function room with 100 guests and a variation in age, ranging from eighteen years through to relatives aged 65 years and over.

The wedding service was booked for 1.00pm with the evening party not starting until 8.00pm, as not all of the guests were invited to the wedding service, but would be attending the wedding reception in the main function room and arriving later in the day. The immediate family and the guests attending the wedding service would have a buffet lunch in the lake view bar between 3.30 and 5.30. Sophia is a fanatical Bee Gees fan as is her dad Peter, and their enthusiasm for the band is a long running family joke.

Key Facts

Size of function room

Age range of guests

Large time frame between wedding service and evening party

Immediate family and selected guests having a buffet lunch in lake view bar mid afternoon

Some of the guests arriving later in the day

Sophia and her Dad are fanatical Bee Gees fans, and well known by family

Recommendation

Taking into account the large time frame between the wedding service and the evening party, Bespoke Entertainment booked a classy acoustic solo artist who performed tasteful easy listening ballads in the lake view bar between the times of 3.30 and 5.30. A solo set was also played in the lobby area outside the clubs main function room between the times of 6.30 and 7.30 as the evening guests arrived and congregated for a pre-dinner drink.

After several discussions with Sophia and Jared and taking into account the long standing family link it was decided that it would be great fun to book a Bee Gees tribute show band. The band commenced as soon as the speeches had be finalised. Resulting in a lot of smiling faces and a packed dance floor all night.
